Charles Derriey, (* 17. August 1808 in Moissey, Jura (Departement); deceased 11. February 1877 in Paris), was typefounder, punchcutter and printer in Paris. After his first years of learning the arts and crafts of typography at Besanaon, he created in 1839 his own print shop with a rotative printer and other equipment. His work, a typographic masterpiece, can be found in “Gravure et fonderie de C. Derriey : specimen-album (Paris : Rue Notre-Dame-des-Champs, 6&12, 1862). It is famous for his beautiful ornaments. The foundry was sold to Turlot on October 1, 1880
