Early Texas patriots had fascinating penmanship. In researching Texas Hero years ago, I had occasion to pore over copies of letters by the likes of Thomas J. Rusk, Mirabeau B. Lamar, Stephen F. Austin and his sister Emily Austin Perry. Eventually, I would replicate the hands of all four of those historical Texans—along with a fifth: the bold yet graceful strokes of Sam Houston, the Texas hero. Much like the man himself, the font that simulates Houston’s penmanship exudes a certain grandness, openness, clarity, and style.
Houston Pen’s 550 glyphs include numerous discretionary ligatures, contextual alternates, lining and old-style figures, ink blots, cross-outs, and Houston’s own famous signature. Comes with full Latin support.
